God is at work performing personal miracles in the lives of our participants, their families and caregivers.

Throughout the Bible, we read about God's epic works from Moses parting the Red Sea to Jonah in the belly of the whale to Daniel escaping from the den of lions.   We are quickly approaching the Christmas season when we will celebrate the birth of Jesus the great miracle worker.

We don’t necessary see these larger-than-life wonders in our day and age, do we?  But, be assured, God is at work performing personal miracles in the lives of our participants, their families and caregivers.

Brothers

Craig was the youngest of five siblings – four boys and a girl.  His father committed suicide when he was only 4 years old.  His mother was left with the enormous responsibility of raising her children alone.  Bruce, her 3rd son, was born with severe disabilities and required 24-hour care.  Unable to provide what he needed, she was forced to place him in a facility before Craig was even born.

As an adult, Craig became a father to two sons and then divorced.  Tragically, one of Craig’s sons was killed in a car accident.  Earlier in his life, he had made bad choices and experienced hard times.  Before he was killed, he became involved at church and was baptized.  “He constantly asked me to go to church with him, and I declined every time. My biggest regret is I didn’t go with him,” Craig says.

After his funeral, Craig found God and became a Christian.   “God is the biggest part of my life now.  He caused me to meet the loving people in our congregation.  It’s how I met Becky Moore and Pam Conder of Mephibosheth Ministries,” he adds.

Craig’s brother Bruce – the brother he had never met – is a regular day camper at Camp Mephibosheth.  Becky wondered if the two were related.  After some research, she was able to confirm that the two were indeed brothers!

Pam told Craig about Bruce and invited him to come to camp when Bruce was going to be there.  Unable to go that year, Craig made the trip to Rainbow Christian Camp this summer. “I was apprehensive and excited at the same time,” he says.

“When the bus pulled up, my heart started pounding.  When Bruce’s eyes met mine, I could just tell he knew I was his brother.  I truly believe the Holy Spirit was with both of us,” he explains.

Craig and Bruce spent the day together. “I got to swim with him; we were the last to get out of the pool.  He watched me do the flying squirrel.  When the day was coming to an end, I realized my regret of not meeting sooner.  He is part of my life now and God let this happen.  All of this just shows how God works in your life if you let him. ” he says.
